The Manager of Public Grants and Contracts will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of fund development for local, state, and federal grants and contracts at Bridge Over Troubled Waters. As a key member of the Bridge Development Team, the Manager for Grants and Contracts will ensure timely submissions of applications and reports to maintain and expand public funding for Bridge’s multi-service system of programs to assist youth and young adults at risk for and experiencing homelessness. Working in a highly collaborative organizational environment, the Manager will collaborate and communicate with senior management and associate directors of each Bridge program area to build and strengthen the agency’s wraparound system of services. They will advise on program development, data collection, expansion, and outcome requirements for new and continuing public funding. The Manager for Grants and Contracts reports to the Bridge Development Director.
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented fundraising and program development professional who is adept at understanding public RFP language and requirements and able to analyze and advise on opportunities to advance Bridge’s mission and operating capacity. Developing in-depth knowledge of Bridge mission, programs, and organizational growth strategies will be essential for identifying relevant public funding opportunities for maintaining and expanding Bridge programming. The successful candidate will be committed to social and economic justice and aligned with Bridge’s mission of serving youth and young adults experiencing homelessness.
- Monitor and stay up to date on all public funding availability and bring opportunities for funding to the attention of Bridge senior management and program staff.
- Provide relevant Bridge managers and program staff with background and requirements for public funding opportunities, including funding amounts and grant/contract timeframes, goals and objectives, program, data collection, and outcome expectations, and other information needed to decide whether to pursue funding.
- With input from senior management and program staff, write all public funding grant applications, assemble all relevant and required supporting documentation, and assist finance director in developing budgets.
- Work with senior management and program staff to produce required reports, updates, and renewal applications for all public grants and contracts.
- Ensure strict adherence to all deadline requirements for public funding applications and reports.
- Maintain relationships with program directors, managers, and financial directors for all public funding sources.
- Provide senior management and program directors with information needed to maintain accountability and ensure compliance with all regulations, program elements, and other requirements of public funding.
- Work with senior management and program staff to maintain all licenses required for funding and program operations, compile narratives and documentation, and submit licensing applications, updates, and renewals.
- Effectively and professionally represent Bridge at meetings, conferences and events with City, State and Federal partners, as appropriate
- Participate in all Bridge administrative meetings as required.
- Participate in staff development activities, all-staff meetings, trainings, and other program-related activities as assigned.
- Perform other related duties for the purpose of ensuring an effective Bridge development department and relationships with government committees, funding departments, and grants management staff.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in government relations, political science, or related subject; master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in fund management, program development, or grants management, or government operations.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local funding agencies and RFP analysis.
- Empathy, compassion, tolerance, and flexibility in working with high-risk populations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills, both verbal and written, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Available for working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if needed
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Capacity to interact with people from culturally diverse backgrounds and display strong customer relation skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, exercise sound judgment in making decisions, and act accordingly.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Bridge Over Troubled Waters is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental and vision plans, paid time off and a retirement savings plan. Bridge also provides a bonus of $2500 for all new employees that are eligible to receive it in two $1250 installments after 6 months and at one year of service with Bridge.

About Bridge Over Troubled Waters
For over 50 years, Bridge Over Troubled Waters (Bridge) has guided homeless, runaway and at-risk youth on the path to a stable home and self-sufficient future. Bridge founders were among the first to recognize and respond to the growing crisis of youth homelessness in the late ‘60s and were instrumental in advocating for the authorization of the US Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Act in 1974. Bridge’s Mobile Medical Van, the nation’s first, and Bridge’s Transitional Living Program have been named national models for replication.
